Getting my truck/plow ready for winter

Howdy Everybody

Thank you for checking out my online blog. I’ll try and post a few times a week but sometimes there may be some delays in between postings. I’d like to start off my first series by showing some of my plans to¬†cheapy¬†rebuild a plow I picked up for a few hundred bucks. I also need to do some modifications on my truck in order to use it this winter. First I’ll start off with my truck (when I finish a task I will add links to the related posts).

My Truck: 2005 GMC Sierra 2500HD. The following is the list of things I need to do before the winter:

  • Install Timbrens: These will allow the front end to support more weight, the weight of the plow
  • 4 New Tires
  • 4WD Actuator
  • Build or Buy a Backrack
  • Mount worklights to see behind on said rack
  • Undercoat frame
  • Change Rear End Fluid
  • Adjust Parking Brake

The plow: Fisher 8′ Minute-Mount

  • Patch rust holes
  • New hoses
  • New Hydro Fluid
  • Paint entire unit
  • Convert headlights to halogen headlights (Cost Pending)

As I get work done off the list I will update this list with links to the posts. Please let me know if you have any other ideas and I welcome the feedback.

Thanks,
Brandon
